Mary E. Cincotta was born in St. Paul, Minnesota. She graduated from Albert Lea Senior High and went to the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, for her undergraduate degree in Child Psychology, Psychology and Public Health. She attended William Mitchell College of Law, graduating in January 2001. She has practiced in the area of family law since 1990 as a paralegal and as an attorney since 2001. She practiced law in Minneapolis with Moss & Barnett and Richard D. Goff for over 10 years and met Chad Throndset as opposing counsel in litigation and they became friends and colleagues.
She is a member of the Minnesota State and 18th District Bar Associations. She is a trained Parenting Consultant, Parenting Time Expediter, Custody Evaluator, Mediator and Early Neutral Evaluator. She has represented clients in a variety of family law matters including but, not limited to:

Mary E. Cincotta believes in giving back to the community by providing legal services through the Volunteer Lawyers Network where she has represented clients in the self-help clinic, in mediation, preparation of legal documents, and limited scope and full representation. She was a Guardian ad Litem in Ramsey County from 1995 – 2012. She is also listed on the limited scope panel in Hennepin County. She is on the ENE roster for the counties of Pine, Isanti, Chisago, Kanabec, Winona, Goodhue, Carver and Scott. In her spare time, Mary enjoys reading and writing short plays. She is the mother of four adult children.
